A3 - DesignSTUDIO was founded in 2016 by Alejandro Antonio Aguirrechu; a Los Angeles/ London based Architectural designer, theorist, writer, artist, and curator. His interests reside in speculative research and architectural projects. His work is invested in architectural drawing, design, writing, and research concerning  tensions within the translations of urban design,  psychology, and image of the city. Instruments of investigation arise across multiple mediums such as art, literature, architecture, design and the sciences to produce a palette of ongoing explorations of the philosophical, sociological, historical, and aesthetic attitudes as tools for exploitations, disruptions, conflicts and future possibilities of urban transformations of cities and Architecture in tension.

A3 strives to generate a synthesis of technology and storytelling to invigorate design, producing an architectural narrative that embraces a contemporary ideology, information culture and constantly evolving lifestyles.

Through his Architecture/Design and Research Studio A3 – DesignSTUDIO and collaborations with the architectural office HPLUSF Architects, Alejandro has been able to investigate and bring to life various pursuits in the creative discipline through such mediums as exhibitions, installations, writings, and symposiums.

His work has been shown in various cities such as London, Los Angeles, Havana, San Juan, Miami, and New York City; and his writings widely published. Alejandro obtained his undergraduate degree in architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). Before founding A3- DesignSTUDIO he worked in various prestigious firms, the most recent being part of Frank O. Gehry’ s Design Studio at Gehry Partners LLP located in Los Angeles, CA.
